Silly Season

How’s your calendar looking at the moment? I was at my first Christmas party for the season last night, where I had a wonderful time, but it looks like it just starts getting busier from here to the end of the year.

I’m involved in at least 4 Christmas Carols evenings this year. I’m compere for my first one this Sunday. Then there’s Emily’s end of year piano concert, a couple of other end of year events and Christmas celebrations of various sorts, getting together with friends and family, it just doesn’t seem to stop.

Don’t get me wrong, I love this time of the year, especially remembering the real meaning of Christmas, it’s just that it has a tendency to get a little bit frantic. I think that amongst all the busyness I’ll have to schedule some time to relax over the next few weeks.

  • Yep, there’s the work christmas do’s, your partners work christmas do’s, all the clubs and other associations you belong to christmas do’s, then there are the christmas catch ups with friends and then finally family. I also love this time of the year, even though it is frantic, there’s nothing like spending all this time with other people. Oh, and somewhere in amongst all that you have to fit christmas shopping in as well…… ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Went to the Martin Place Christmas Tree lighting last night, but we got waylaid and did some shopping in the QVB building instead. Did you know that you can get an “Alexander the Great” Mont Blanc pen for only $5,950!

We’ve got our church’s leaders & workers christmas party next week, and it’s fancy dress – 70’s. Gotta call my mum to sort that one out.

Then it’s the christmas production, cell christmas party, work christmas party & carols in the domain (same day), then I fly home for 2 weeks for more of the same ๐Ÿ™‚

    Gotta love it!

  • I have one party and that’s it. I’m fine with that. I am one of those people who get depressed around the holidays, wish I didn’t but I’ve accepted it. So I try to focus on the reason for the season and just get through to January ๐Ÿ™‚
