… and the award goes to …

Yesterday Emily finished Year Four by bringing home yet another excellent report. Every subject area on the report was marked in the Highly Competent area. You couldn’t get a better report.

Emily has always been a very clever, hard working student. She won the Achievement Award, the highest academic award for each year level, three years running in Years One, Two and Three.

We’ve always known that James has excelled in different areas. While he is incredibly clever and has an amazing sense of humour, he is certainly a very different child. We have never pushed him to follow in his sister’s footsteps but always just to do his best and to use the skills God has given him. Yesterday he finished Year One.

During the end of year assembly yesterday his teacher was giving out awards. She started reading:

The student receiving the Year One Achievement Award has a terrific attitude towards school life. This person has developed a great deal of maturity this year and is capable of tackling any challenge put before them. I have no doubt that this student’s skills will enable them to make any “Mission Possible”. Congratulations, James Olsen.

I think they must get their brains from Pauline.

To say that I’m a proud dad doesn’t even begin to express how I feel right now.
