Does that hurt?

How did you sleep last night? I woke up several times.

Each time I woke I lay there wondering if I was in pain. You’d think that I’d immediately know if I was in pain or not but my mind doesn’t work too well in a half awake haze.

Going back a couple of weeks I had been waking up in the night with extreme pain in my tummy. I went to the doctor and was given some tablets to sort things out. Since then I’ve had a pretty good run. I’ve been able to sleep through the night without a problem.

My tablets ran out a couple of days back so either the problem has been sorted or it will come back sometime soon and the doctor will have to investigate further.

I don’t know what was waking me up last night but thankfully it wasn’t those pains making a return visit. I guess that I’d got so used to waking up in pain that I just expected that that’s what it would be. I was more than happy to be proved wrong each time and drift back off to sleep.
