Read all about it

Speaking of reading, as I was in the previous post, I wrote last year about Emily and James both winning the school reading competition for their year levels.

The finals for this year’s competition were held today.

As well as helping them practice their skills I talked to them a fair bit about the possibilities of winning or losing. I wanted to make sure that both of them would accept winning gracefully, or that they would be the first to congratulate the winner if it wasn’t them.

Pauline sent me an SMS with the results while I was on-air this morning. I can’t wait to get home from work today to congratulate them.

Looks like I’ll have to take off early on Friday so that I can see them both read in front of the whole school and receive their awards at the school assembly.
